About Us

Our coaches bring positivity, patience and a wealth of knowledge and experience to each and every session. After working with our coaches, you can expect your child to walk away showing significant improvements in all physical aspects of the game.

Mark Pottie

“The Coach” Mark Pottie

Mark is the Co-Founder, Coach and Director of Player Development of Vancouver Baseball Academy. He is also the Hitting and Conditioning Coach of the three time BCPBL Provincial Champions – The North Shore Twins (16U), and has coached for Team Nova Scotia and Team BC in the 15U AAA Canadian Nationals. Mark has been a regular guest on Rob Fai Nation Radio TSN 1040.

Coach Mark Pottie has been playing competitive baseball for over 35 years and has been a personal trainer for the past 23 years. He has had the opportunity to work with both national level team athletes, as well as professional athletes. With his extensive knowledge in athletic training and bio-mechanics, along with his baseball experience, Mark brings a combination of skills that can help any baseball player reach the next level.

Mike Vrlak

Mike is the Co-Founder of Vancouver Baseball Academy. He is a father of two boys. He has been their coach for all sports including and specifically baseball for the past 10 years in the Dunbar community. Mike has a passion for helping kids learn about and enjoy the fantastic game of baseball, as well as teaching them to be great teammates and the importance of sportsmanship. Both winning and losing builds character. It’s critical we give our kids the tools to deal with each of those scenarios.

Over the years, Mike has had the privilege to coach many kids and most, if not all, still refer to him as “Coach Mike”. It’s a testament of the relationship he builds with the kids he coaches and the unique experience he takes them through on and off the playing field.
